2014 Business Meeting

April 10, 2014

Karl Schneider, outgoing president of MOAPPA, called the meeting to order and thanked Bob Eckels for putting on the conference and Vickie Younger for coordinating the conference.

Approval of Minutes

The first order of business was reading and approving the minutes of the 2013 MOAPPA conference. The minutes were posted on the MOAPPA web site for all to read, so it was asked if there were any corrections or comments that needed to be made. Hearing none, a motion was made to approve the minutes. It was seconded. The minutes were approved without any further discussion.

Treasurer's Report

The next order of business was to have the treasurer’s report. The minutes were posted on the MOAPPA web site for all to read, so it was asked if there were any corrections or comments that needed to be made. Hearing none, a motion was made to approve the minutes. It was seconded. The minutes were approved without any further discussion.

None given, position is vacant.

New Business

Karl Schneider thanked Bob Eckels and his staff at Missouri State University for hosting this year’s MOAPPA conference and thanked everyone for coming to this year’s MOAPPA conference. Karl Schneider then presented Bob Eckels with a plaque and gavel.

The election of officers for MOAPPA was the next item of business. The slate of officers proposed and nominated was:

  • President—Bob Eckels
  • Vice President—open
  • Secretary/treasurer-----John Clark

No other nominations were received. The officers were approved by a unanimous decision.

Bob Eckels thanked the staff and Vickie Younger for all their hard work and dedication for this year’s MOAPPA meeting.

Comments about APPA and CAPPA: Bob Eckels commented that membership on a regional scale has made Missouri State University better.

Other Business

The use of CAPPA to access CVENT to make things easier for the next host. Using the services of an event planner to assist with the annual conference was discussed. Vickie Younger offered to assist as an event planner. A $2000 allowance was discussed for the event planner. It was motioned and approved.

Without any further new business, the meeting was adjourned.
